TJ In Amsterdam

July 23, 2007
Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Time: 1:00PM

Every day in this city brings about a new adventure. Yesterday, we ate these pancakes, I took pictures of them, where they mix chocolate, powdered sugar, ice cream, and pancake batter on a huge plate. It was amazing. Everyone is so friendly. I've never been somewhere where kindness is a norm. It's definitely a welcomed change from home.

It rained all morning. We went to the "smart" shops and Rome picked up some hash. We walked to the Red Light District and saw ladies in windows who offered some services that I tried to get Rome to handle, but he declined. There was a rave in Amsterdam, or "Dam" square, which was completely sick. After leaving the show, we were in search of Absinth. Even though we didn't end up finding any, we decided tomorrow would be the day to continue the search. We did, however, hit up this lunch spot where I ordered the thickest beer I've ever had and where a couple of idiots playing instruments bothered the passing crowd and planted themselves right in front of the restaurant. Stomach sickness welcome.

Tomorrow, we leave for Berlin. I CAN'T WAIT!! For the time being though, we are going to party it up these next 24 hours. This city is unlike anywhere else I have been so far. I'll definitely be back sometime in the future. I'm worried about my budget. It's crazy.. having these worries while on vacation. Forget it all, I'll deal with it when I get back home and finish the move to Arizona.

(Below this entry I had drawn Dutch houses with a canal running by them)
